Every presentation showcases twenty sections divided into 2 to 3 electrifying instrumental and vocal solos, in addition to 17 to 18 elaborate dance pieces dressed in gorgeously vivid outfits. Prior to the era of Communist reign, FIVE MILLENNIA of arts, legends, and culture thrived in every curve of mainland China, and year after year, the New York-founded Shen Yun breathes life into these enduring treasures for everyone to cherish! 2025 is no exception.
Celestial gods walking across the country. Infinite steppes swept by nomadic hordes of Mongols. And battlefield valor of fearless warriors. Shen Yun’s yearly performances explore the innumerable fables and sagas that spanned China’s dynasties, creatively portraying their tragedies and romances with aspects from Buddhist and Taoist creeds to complete each story.
The approaching presentation will exhibit twenty story sections of otherworldly performances in approximately 2 hours. Professionally trained dancers decked in charmingly decorated garb will glide to the floor, narrating the event’s stories through 17 or 18 intricate ethnic dance routines. Additionally, 2 or 3 instrumental and vocal solos will punctuate these phases with soaring melodies — original and traditional alike.
A live orchestral ensemble will play rousing music throughout the show, innovatively combining Chinese and Western instrumentation. In terms of staging, Shen Yun makes use of a cutting-edge digital background to project animated scenarios, drawing audiences into the realm of ancient Chinese civilizations in a spectacular fashion.
